ample Curriculum
Our Classroom Philosophy:
In the first weeks of school, children will begin learning about each other, their teachers, and themselves. We will focus on the classroom and the creation of a physically and emotionally safe environment. The children will learn to participate in the routines and activities that make up pre-school life. They learn to say goodbye in the morning and feel safe in the classroom. They learn to be responsible for themselves and begin to develop a degree of autonomy and self-regulation in the classroom by making choices and cleaning up after themselves. They learn routines and learn to perform certain jobs in the classroom.
The children will also be exploring the different learning centers in the classroom; e.g., the block area, dramatic play, work with manipulatives, the art and sensory tables, music, science and simple math. They will participate in meaningful and developmentally appropriate class activities, and learn to express their opinions and ideas and to listen respectfully to those of their classmates, in a group setting. They will learn how to be members of a classroom community, share positive social experiences, and learn about how to get along with each other and become kind and caring friends.
Daisy, Angela and I look forward to building a sense of community and spending a wonderful year together.
